Automatic Forwarding
When the design team sits on RFIs and submittals it directly affects the contractors ability to proceed. In the past, contractors have resorted to sending RFIs and submittals directly to the consultants by email. The issue is that many consultants get copied that don't need to review the RFI or submittal.
AEC-Sync has implemented a streamlined solution to keep consultants and engineers informed in near real-time. The auto-forward feature allows you complete flexibility and speed when receiving, reviewing, and forwarding. Simply set up your custom trades/disciplines and link the appropriate consultant, engineer or owner reviewer.

When forwarding an RFI or submittal AEC-Sync simply pre-populates the check list of recipients so you can add or remove as appropriate.
The configuration of the auto-forward feature is not tied to a pre-defined submittal log/register or a set of spec sections. The auto-forward feature is an optional check box for the contractor to select as an RFI or submittal is added to the project. Having the distribution of the RFIs and submittals happen in real-time is more effective than doing it at the beginning of every project by linking them to pre-defined submittal logs or spec sections. Linking consultants to spec sections means there is guess work because a number of unknowns occur during the life of a project. Plus you can't predefine who an RFI should go to at the beginning of a project. For example, you may have a trade for mechanical and electrical, or electrical and plumbing. This flexibility allows you to create an unlimited number of distribution lists for RFIs and submittals.
